Jr Scrum Master

A3 Consulting LLC has an opening for a remote Jr Scrum Master position. In the Jr Scrum Master role, you will contribute to the team’s delivery success by leveraging Agile methods to enable predictable, quality delivery while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have previous experience using Agile methods outside of an IT or software development environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in sprint planning and retrospective activities
  • Participate in the daily scrum sessions with mix of Government and Contractor personnel
  • Help identify, analyze and resolve issues that prevent the team from operating at maximum effectiveness
  • Communicate regularly with management to resolve impediments and make recommendations for improved performance
  • Maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery
  • Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments and progress
  • Assist in facilitating sprint planning, sprint demo, backlog grooming/refinement and retrospective meetings
  • Innovate with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information
  • Hold Product Owners accountable for the creation and thoughtful maintenance of product backlogs and strategic roadmaps

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to convey the wisdom of Agile methods, while developing innovative ways to modify the Scrum framework
  • First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM; etc.)
  • At least two years of Agile experience
  • Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories; etc
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented Scrum patterns and techniques (Example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs; etc.)
  • The ability to distinguish between what “is Scrum” what is “not Scrum”
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using Agile methods outside of an IT or software development context
  • Active Secret Clearance
